Shushan Purim Fiasco: Degel HaTorah Chairman Pindrus blames government

A stormy discussion in the Economics Committee Monday after the catastrophe on Shushan Purim, with the cancellation of transportation; MK Margie attacked the police and announced that he would not approve the regulations; MK Pindrus attacked the government and threatened the Likud

The chairman of the economics committee, MK Yaakov Margi, spoke harshly about what happened yesterday in Jerusalem, at the opening of the committee meeting this morning (Monday) and blamed the police. MK Yitzhak Pindrus, responded to him and accused the government of creating anarchy.

“We are opening the discussion after a very difficult day in Jerusalem,” said MK Margie, “in all respects. there is a feeling that no one is considerate of the other and no one cares, as if there is no epidemic for a whole year and the police can do whatever they please.

“Who gave permission to deploy checkpoints and prefer one car over another? Where does this society want to go? All the commentators in the studios have succeeded in dismantling Israeli society.”

MK Margie added that “in times of emergency we knew how to unite. Take a look at the media – you managed to dismantle Israeli society. Nobody cares about not dying, not about economics, not about anything. Who authorized the police and on what basis did they deploy checkpoints on private cars? “.

MK Yitzhak Pindrus referred to the words of Chairman Margie and said: “I am sorry to tell you but it is the government that creates anarchy in this country. Shushan Purim was discovered “by chance” on Friday afternoon. Even the police discovered that there are explosives on Purim on Thursday. The police probably need a consultant to teach when there are explosives in Israel and if they want I can update them when it will be next year.

“On Friday afternoon, the government revealed a mysterious holiday. The government ministers raised their hand in an offensive decision and in the end it seeps in and becomes anarchy.”

“Not only are we not allowed to approve these regulations, I would suggest that citizens file a lawsuit against government ministers for these regulations. I want to tell Likud members – We will not be trampled on.”

“Until there are unequivocal answers we will not approve the regulations and all the fines you gave yesterday – throw them in the trash,” Margie announced. “I regret that the police do not report the truth – that they acted without the authority to make clear discrimination between vehicles and restrict the movement of a particular public. I do not remember such a spectacle that the police came to the Knesset committee and were unaware.”

On Shushan Purim, thousands of Charedi families were forced to make their way to Jerusalem for long hours to celebrate, following the decision to detain private vehicles at checkpoints and order their passengers to retrace their steps to prevent forbidden gatherings. On Friday, government ministers decided to ban public transportation to and from Jerusalem, starting Saturday night to Monday morning, and to fine transportation organizers NIS 5,000.
