Israeli security officials uncovered and neutralized channels being used by members of the Palestinian Hamas terror group to receive money from Turkey.
The two terrorist factions were transferring money under the guise of fraudulent commercial companies. One of the transfers listed “Sense Sanitary Company” as the organization to which “merchandise” was being sent to.
The operation – undertaken in part by Shin Bet, the Defense Ministry’s National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing and the Israel Customs Authority – signed seizure orders for around $121,000 in merchandise transferred to Palestinian Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip.
“We will continue to be relentless on terror and track down its infrastructure anywhere it exists – in Israel or beyond,” said Defense Minister Benny Gantz. “I commend the ongoing work of the NBCTF at the Defense Ministry, along with the Shin Bet and Customs and all of our security agencies, who work together day in and day out to prevent funds and resources from reaching terror organizations.”
