The IDF forces deployed in the Northern Command and the Judea and Samaria Division have completed logistical and engineering preparations for the snowstorms.
The preparations are undertaken in order to maintain functional continuity of the units and at the same time prepare for assistance for the civilian population.
Rescue systems were deployed throughout the sectors, including about 70 operational vehicles, dozens of snow chains were installed to allow vehicles to move in the snow, tens of tons of salt, tens of thousands of liters of diesel and water, tens of thousands of heating bags and hundreds of radiators were distributed.
The engineering brigades are on constant alert in order to provide engineering solutions for the piled-up snow, including blocking critical intersections such as the one leading to Ziv Hospital.
The Judea and Samaria Division mapped the remote camps and outposts and equipped them in preparation for cases of crippling conditions.
The Home Front Command districts are also on standby to assist in extreme events for the various authorities and bases: Dozens of reservists are on standby and vehicles, rescue trucks, and engineering tools have been assigned in order to meet the task.
