Health Minister Yuli Edelstein paid a visit to the residence of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky Shlita on Rashbam Street in Bnei Brak this morning (Wednesday).
The visit comes in light of the rise in severe cases of Covid-19, also among children and young adolescents.
Edelstein presented to Reb Chayim the severity of the ongoing pandemic and stressed the burden placed on hospitals as a result of the ‘third wave’ outbreak and discussed cooperation with Haredy leaders to implement life-saving measures.
He reported with satisfaction the fact that the vaccination rates among the ultra-Orthodox public have improved and stressed the importance of encouraging everyone to get vaccinated.
Edelstein thanked Reb Chayim for his directive to Yeshivah and Cheiders to comply with the lockdown rules and Reb Chayim reiterated his support for any life-saving measure deemed necessary by medical professionals.
