To contain the proliferation of emerging Covid-19 strains, the cabinet approved on Tuesday night a proposal by the Health Ministry that barred entry to Israel except through an international airport or a sea crossing.
An ‘Exceptions Committee’ was established that holds the authority to approves entry on an individual basis.
In addition, the cabinet approved an exception to aircraft crew members while they are on duty.
The regulations will go into effect starting Thursday.
